
Women's Rugby World Cup Preview

(WHITBY, ON) - The Women’s Rugby World Cup kicks off on Saturday, October 8th in New Zealand. The Canadian Women’s team enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed in the World Cup, competing in Pool B against USA, Italy and Japan. Canada will look to improve on their 5th place finish at the 2017 World Cup in Ireland. Their first match will be against Japan at the Northland Events Centre in Whangarei on Sunday, October 9 at 3:15 p.m. local time. Below is Canada’s pool play schedule.
Sunday, October 9th, 10:15 PM ET: Canada v. Japan
Sunday, October 16th, 7:45 PM ET: Canada v. Italy
Sunday, October 23rd, 10:15 PM ET: Canada v. USA
All matches will be broadcast live on TSN.
The roster features a total of 13 Ontario born athletes, ten on the World Cup roster and three named as non-traveling reserves.
