
Fall 7s Series Recap

(WHITBY, ON) - After five weekends of competition, The 2019 Rugby Ontario Fall 7s Series has come to a close! This year’s series featured four series stops, culminating in a Provincial Championship tournament. The tournaments in the 2019 series were the TIRF 7s, Belleville 7s, Whitu 7s and the Q-Meta Cup. The series wrapped up at the Junior Club 7s Provincial Championship in Barrie. The two-day tournament featured 36 Boys & Girls teams from across Ontario, competing for the Provincial Championship
“I would like to thank all the teams that participated in the Fall 7s Series this season” said Myles Spencer, CEO of Rugby Ontario. “The Provincial Junior Club 7s Championship was a wonderful way to wrap up the fall season. It was a fantastic display of skill and competition that showcased the future stars of Ontario rugby.”
The Junior Club 7s Provincial Championship tournament was held at the Barrie Community Sports Complex in Barrie, Ontario, This was the first time Barrie was the host of the Junior Club 7s Provincial Championship.
“Rugby Ontario would like to thank Barrie RFC and the City of Barrie for hosting the events” stated Myles Spencer. “Barrie Sports Complex was an excellent venue to host the Provincial Championship. Special thanks to the City of Barrie staff for keeping the playing fields in great condition late into the year.”
Rugby Ontario would also like to thank Event Connect for their support and involvement in the Fall 7s Series! Thank you for helping with the registration and hotel bookings for each series stop. We would also like to thank TIRF, the Belleville Bulldogs, the EORU and the Brantford Harlequins for hosting series tournaments!

ABOUT THE ONTARIO BLUES

The Ontario Blues program is the high performance representative program for male and female rugby players in Ontario. Rugby Ontario is represented at the provincial level by the Ontario Blues. The program includes representative teams from Under-15 to Senior in both Women’s and Men’s Fifteens and Under-18 Men's and Women's Sevens. Specifically, the program is designed to develop and showcase rugby players for Canadian representative national teams.
