Ontario Jr. Blues U18 Girls Team Announce Victoria 7s Roster

March 8th, 2019

(WHITBY, ON) - Rugby Ontario is pleased to announce the Ontario Jr. Blues Girls U18 7s roster for their tour to Victoria. The team will leave for the west coast on March 24th, returning on March 29th. They will play matches against the Rugby Canada Development Academy and BC rugby. "The girls having been coming together nicely over the last several weeks" stated Jr. Girls 7s Head Coach, Ian Fitzgerald. "We are all really looking forward to participating in such a unique experience, playing against the Rugby Canada Development Academy and BC rugby. It’s always exciting when you can bring the best talent in the country together."

The trip out west will also give players a chance to showcase their skills in front of National Team coaches. "They will be fortunate to battle some of the strongest competition the west coast has to offer" said Khalil Ajram, Rugby Ontario 7s program lead. "At the same time, they will be observed by the National 7s/15s coaching staff. This competition stays true to the RO7s development model of Province to Country and we look forward to seeing these players perform."

The Ontario Blues program is the high performance representative program for male and female rugby players in Ontario. Rugby Ontario is represented at the provincial level by the Ontario Blues. The program includes representative teams from Under-15 to Senior in both Women’s and Men’s Fifteens and Under-18 Men's and Women's Sevens. Specifically, the program is designed to develop and showcase rugby players for Canadian representative national teams.
