Exciting finishes across the board for final round of OWL and Marshall
The Ontario Women’s League (OWL) and Marshall Leagues are coming to a close and their respective playoff pictures are beginning to come into focus.
Ontario Women’s League
The OWL requires just one more game to set playoff matchups and it is an important match remaining. The Niagara Wasps and Guelph Redcoats meet one more time on August 2 to determine the number one seed out of the Western conference. The Eastern Conference is set now with the Toronto Saracens taking a 9-1-0 record into first place, while the Aurora Barbarians placed second. The Barbarians handed the Saracens their only loss of the season in their final meeting of the season this past week.
July 28 OWL Fixtures
Markham Irish 19 – 60 Toronto Scottish
Toronto Saracens 21 – 69 Aurora Barbarians
Guelph Redcoats 100 – 0 Waterloo County
Final Game
August 2nd, 2018 - Niagara Wasps at Guelph Redcoats-- 7:30pm ET (Eastview Community Park)

Marshall Championship and Premiership Leagues
The Marshall Championship and Premiership teams have now finished league competition and are entering Ontario League Playoffs. The Toronto Scottish had a season record of 8-2-0, taking top seed in the East Premiership, while the defending Brantford Harlequins topped the West with a 9-1-0 record. In the Championship, the Ajax Wanderers had a 6-4-0 record, claiming top spot in a tight East Championship, while Waterloo County narrowly claimed the West Championship with a record of 8-2-0.
The new league playoff structure will allow teams to fight for an improved seed for the McCormick Cup Playoffs and will also give teams at the bottom of their tables a chance to improve their seed and avoid demotion in 2019.
