Second annual Cobourg Beach Rugby Festival a big success

Cobourg Saxons Beach Rugby Festival a big success in its second year!

(COBOURG, ON) - The uncooperative weather did not stop a large group of youth rugby athletes from taking part in a very unique event yesterday on the shores of Lake Ontario. The Cobourg Saxons Rugby Club held its second annual Beach Rugby Festival at Cobourg Beach on Sunday. The unique minor festival included youth teams from Under 7 to Under 11 and the beach environment allowed for some exciting play, fun memories and learning opportunities. With nine clubs participating and hundreds of athletes taking part, the beach festival was a huge success and an excellent display of youth rugby to the Cobourg community. The event almost doubled in participation from year one to two and with the growth continuing, the Saxons look to make the event a staple in the area's community event calendar.
