Canadian Rugby Championship Day 5 Recap 

(Saskatoon SK) There were two games on docket at the Canadian Rugby Championship for the Ontario Blues on Friday. The U19 Men had a semi final match up with Quebec for a berth in the Final and The U20 Women played Nova Scotia to try and add to their undefeated record.

The U20 Women conceded the first points of the game very early, but they battled back with a try from Celia Martensson to tie the game early. After constant pressure in the Nova Scotia half, the U20 women took a 12-7 lead after Adea Elliot powered over the line. Nova Scotia struck early in the second half to tie the game at 12. The U20 Women started to pour on the pressure scoring two quick tries to put them up 24 -12. Nova Scotia had a fire lit under them late in the game. They fought to tie the game in the dying minutes. The Ontario U20 Women scored in the last seconds of the game to secure the victory 29-24 and kept their undefeated record alive.

The U19 Men were in tough against Quebec in their semi-final match up. Dominic Johnson got the Blues to a fast start spinning off his defender and putting the ball down in the corner giving the Blues a 7-0 lead. The U19 Men started to pour on the lead and were awarded a penalty try for Quebec having consecutive high tackle infractions. At the half the Blues led 21-5 but Quebec came storming back with two consecutive tries cutting the lead down to only four points. A U19 men’s try late in the game secured the Blues victory 26-17 which punched their ticket to Sunday's final against the Atlantic Rock at 2pm ET.
