I was incredibly saddened to hear about the tragic incident in Prince Edward Island which resulted in the passing of grade 12 student Brodie McCarthy.

On behalf of Ontario's rugby community, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the McCarthy family during this terrible time.

It is difficult to understand what the family, friends, classmates and teammates of Brodie McCarthy are going through right now, but let’s continue to be a united rugby community and show our support.

I will be attending Brodie’s funeral on behalf of the Ontario rugby community to pay our respects to the McCarthy family.

A GoFundMe campaign titled "Support Brodie McCarthy's Family" has been launched in support of Brodie’s family, and we are encouraging the rugby community across Ontario to support Brodie’s family in any way they can.
