Ontario Junior Blues heading to Calgary for Nationals; Photo Credit to Mike Patterson
(CALGARY, AB) - The Ontario Junior Blues program will have four teams heading to Calgary for the Canadian Rugby Championship this coming week. Calgary Rugby Park will host four divisions of junior provincial rugby beginning August 15, 2017.
U15 Men
The Ontario Under-15 Blues Men's program will be competing in this year's Under-16 division. The U15s have a tough division, including two British Columbia teams and the host Albertans. They will match up against BC Bears 2 on the opening day and take on Alberta on Wednesday. Following their two pool matches, they will be seeded into a quarter-final taking place Friday. Semi-finals will take place Saturday and the hardware will be given out on Sunday.

U16 Women
The Ontario Under-16 Blues Women's program will represent Ontario in the Under-16 Nationals. They will play in a small pool with only three other provinces: British Columbia, Alberta and Nova Scotia. The Blues will play every province one in pool play and then will be seeded into a semi-final match. The Blues play BC in their first match on Tuesday, Nova Scotia on Wednesday and Alberta on Thursday.

U17 Men
The Ontario Under-17 Blues Men's program is headed to Calgary to represent our province in the Under-18 division. They are in tough with six other strong teams in the tournament. They will meet Alberta and the Prairie Blizzard in pool play before being seeded into the quarter-finals.

U18 Women
The Ontario Under-18 Blues Women's program is sending the Ontario Junior Blues 'A' team to Calgary for Nationals next week. The U18s are seeded in a strong pool with Quebec and British Columbia. They will be tested early in a contest with BC on opening day at 2pm ET. The Blues then take on Quebec on Thursday. Following their two pool matches, they will be seeded into a semi-final match.

Rugby Ontario is represented at the provincial level by the Ontario Blues High Performance program. The program includes representative teams from Under-15 to Senior in both Women’s and Men’s Fifteens.
