(Toronto, ON) - This past Saturday saw the Balmy Beach Rugby Club recognized rugby heroes of the past, present and future.
With Rugby Canada representatives Al Charron, Colette McCauley and Myles Spencer on hand, Balmy Beach honoured Mark MacSween (Canada), Lucas Rumball (Canada), Dan Moor (Canada), Liam Underwood (Canada), Connor McCann (Canada 7s), Scott Dunham (Canada A) and Henry McQueen (Canada A).
In a new tradition, the players were presented with Balmy Beach 'Caps' as the Club's acknowledgement to the commitment and sacrifice it takes to play at the national level.
Adding gravitas to the evening, two of Balmy Beach's original players from 1955 - Ken Bingham and Hasher McMurray - were also presented caps. Instrumental to the evening was the participation of several of Balmy Beach's junior players from U8 to U12 as well. Proceeds from the night went to support Balmy Beach's junior program.
